Tips for everyone:
- “JUST START! Start your homework. Start going to PASS. Start getting involved. Starting is the hardest part.”
- “Top tip: Be proactive in exploring your social options on-campus, especially when you first get here.”
- “Stay ahead of your classes. Don’t look a day ahead, look a week.”
- “My biggest piece of advice is if you find an elective class to be really fun an interesting, explore it, because you might end up loving it more than your current path. Don't be afraid to step out of your plan. I switched majors later on in my college career and I couldn't be happier with my decision!”
- “Go to PASS and tutoring at the SSC! It's guided studying which makes it so much easier to learn for classes.”
- “Start looking into internships early.”
- “Let yourself make mistakes, that's how you'll grow and find out what you really like doing! Try new things, join new clubs, and push yourself out of your comfort zone!’
- “Try Beast Mode your freshman year, I was so sad I waited till I was a junior.”
- “Talk to people, don’t go thru anything alone.”
- “Please talk to your RA if you are struggling. Also, go to your professor’s office hours. Use the library to study!”
- “Time management, start projects early and work on them progressively throughout the semester.”
- “Park in your designated parking area or you will get ticketed. Don’t test anything, I say that from experience. Also, utilize any PASS sessions for your classes if it’s offered.”
- “Get involved in a club that aligns with your major. These can be a huge help to your academic success.”
- “You matter here.”
- “As a student who attended ASAP sessions I would recommend them to all students. I wish I would have known you are not alone in the struggle and to reach out to others.”
